When my sister’s grandmother made her first rices, she used a wooden pot for the rice, as well as a heavy bottomed pot.
The pot was heavy, so she made a wooden one, too.
She used a metal bowl to make a roux, and added a little salt.
The roux was then stirred in the pot, and then poured into a bowl.
I’m glad I made a rouxe for my rice krissie recipe, because it is my favorite.
